Model A
This is the model that kicked everything off, 10 years ago. The first original shape I sketched that actually felt fresh — something I thought was worth exploring further. I had already been building guitars, but this was the first design that felt like mine. For years, it was the only body shape I worked with, going through countless iterations and refinements.
Today, it’s still evolving — and it’s the only Daro model available as either a solid-body or a semi-hollow. You can choose arched or flat top, binding or rounded edges. It’s our most flexible platform, ready to be shaped into what you need.
Set neck, 3×3 “Duck Paw” headstock, and heavy customization of colors, hardware, pickups, and controls. It’s been a decade of building and this model celebrates it.

Aesthetic and finishing options.

Only the top is colored.
Headstocks face painted with the same color as the body.
Oil and wax finished necks are prefered by those who like the smooth, and not sticky at all, natural feel of the wood grain.
Binding and pickguard material includes white, cream, black, ivoroid, celulloid tortoise and others. It’s selection will be made with you during the build process.

12“ radius recommended for bridge compatibility. Other radius may require a different bridge and could affect the price. If you prefer a different fretboard radius, please mention it in the notes.

We suggest these combinations for this model. We work with a few brands we know and trust (Mojo, Lollar, Lindy Fralin, Curtis Novak, to name a few) but feel free to suggest your favorite set of pickups. Write in the notes.
